Nexkey named Commander, a perfect blend of today and tomorrow, in annual Access Control Index
We are excited to be ranked overall as a Commander in Group 337’s Access Control Index, a yearly quantitative and qualitative report ranking the top 40 physical access control software manufacturers. Commanders are leading the $8B access control software industry with a perfect blend of today and tomorrow.
“Being listed as one of the top leaders in the industry with a rather small team of 22 and only $10M raised is a big accomplishment for us,” says Eric Trabold. “Our seat at the table among billion dollar companies validates that we are doing the right thing.”
Nexkey was named as a lead innovator for the future in both Technology and Innovation. Our 7-person engineering team has worked tirelessly to bring new category-creating technology to the market even in the middle of a global pandemic.
Innovating during tough times was never a decision, it was a requirement. We pushed to continue releasing new features and products for our customers. In just the last year, we have launched a smartwatch app, a messaging platform, the world’s first smart door strike Nexkey Solo, and a new Dashboard that uses occupancy and spatial intelligence to give businesses insights into how to reopen safely after COVID-19.
We're excited that all those efforts are recognized and put us into the Commander and Futurist category for Innovation and Technology.
There are two main reasons why we believe our small team has an advantage to innovate where massive companies fall short. First, not one person has worked at a physical security company before Nexkey. Our team of experienced engineers see things with fresh eyes and don’t get stuck doing what has always been done because we aren’t biased. We look at what’s best for the customer and deliver the best experience possible for them.
Second, we have a great open culture. Every employee knows what’s going on in every department at every stage of execution. Last year we went the extra mile to maintain our culture while remote. The Covid-19 pandemic caused us to give up our impromptu demos over lunch and after work hangouts to talk about the company’s future, but kept close whether by creating funny memes in Slack to celebrate successes or enjoying a virtual activity, like a magic show or a goal-setting class with an Olympian. Our culture provides an open, creative space where new ideas thrive.
We’re proud of our team which makes ranking highest in the industry for Talent extra special.
“We feel the traditional market leaders have gone after just the tip of the iceberg. This market is severely undervalued by not serving 94% of people who work in SMBs and SMEs,” says Eric Trabold. “We are in a unique position at Nexkey to push real change in the industry and bring affordable, actionable mobile access control to every business.”
